A resurgent Brooklyn Nets team beat the Atlanta Hawks with an impressive win in front of a raucous sell-out crowd at The O2 Arena in London.
Along with 20,000 screaming basketball fans, a host of footballers and celebrities were in the arena to see the two teams battle for the fourth regular season game to be hosted in London.
Jason Kidd's team were impressive from the tip-off, leading from first to last and demonstrating the kind of defensive grit that has characterised their recent form.
This win means the big-spending side have now won six of their last seven and are firmly in the hunt for a play-off place in a weak Eastern Conference.
After a relatively even first period that ended 31-27, the Nets exploded in the second quarter thanks to the smooth shooting of former All-Star Joe Johnson.
The first two stanzas belonged to Johnson - the sharp shooter had 26 points at half-time, putting on a clinic to find the mark with 10 of his 13 shots.
'Joe's been off the charts, not just the last few games but the whole season,' Kidd said about his star.
'We've asked him to play more minutes, defensively we ask him to guard guys and he never says no. For a coach to have a player like that is a blessing.'
