Newcastle's bid for Lyon midfielder is rejected

Newcastle United have had a bid for Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier rejected by the French club.
The size of the offer for the 23-year-old - earmarked to replace Yohan Cabaye - is unknown.
The France international said he was unaware of a potential transfer.
He told French football website Foot Mercato:  "I don't know much about it. I read the press and I saw my name written next to Newcastle, but I don't have more information than this."
He added: "The transfer window closes on Friday so we'll see.
"I've still got lots of objectives I want to achieve personally and collectively with Lyon. I'm not thinking about the transfer window and transfer rumours."
Cabaye completed his £19m move to Paris St-Germain on Wednesday.
Newcastle, currently eighth in the Premier League, have signed Borussia Monchengladbach striker Luuk de Jong on loan.
