The Manchester United manager will be on another scouting expedition as he weighs up several players in the match but has a long-standing admiration for the Bayern Munich and Croatia striker.
Mandzukic has scored 14 goals in 26 games for club and country this season but is unsettled by the pending and much-heralded arrival of Robert Lewandowski.
